Quilting for Charity at St Ives Murdoch

Montage of three images showing residents at St Ives Murdoch with handmade quilts for donation to charity

Every Thursday morning at St Ives Murdoch, the quilting group comes together to put their hands and left-over fabrics to good use. For the last three years, the group have donated over 80 quilts to charity what an impressive feat!

The group recently finished 28 quilts which were donated to two very deserving charities: Starting Over Support SOS which is an organisation dedicated to supporting families and individuals escape crisis situations, and Foster Care Association WA who do a wonderful job with foster children all over WA.

Dawn Fathers, co-ordinator of the quilting group, says “I’m very proud that we were able to donate so many quilts to very worthy recipients”.

The group is made up of residents and their friends, and they would love to see new faces!
