What are St Ives village events?

St Ives regularly hosts events at each of our villages to maintain a close-knit social atmosphere and provide a relaxed introduction to our villages. The events create an opportunity for those considering the move to learn more about the St Ives lifestyle. Our events range from happy hours to grandparents day, with each tailored to ensure one can meet existing residents and explore the different accommodation styles. And, whilst the above information can be found on our website and by flicking through our happiness report. We believe that having the opportunity to attend an event offers an unparalleled insight into life in a St Ives retirement village.

Who are village events for?

Events are held for both current and prospective residents, and we encourage family and friends to join the action should they wish!

Past and future events

We aim to cater our events to the wide interests of our residents, some more high-key than others, however, all have the same unifying purpose of encouraging a social atmosphere. Every village event has limited capacity therefore we ask that guests register their attendance.

Some of our recent events are:

Faulty Towers Dining Experience:

This event was a three-hour extravaganza in which Basil, Sybil and Manuel from the iconic Faulty towers tv series, served up mayhem on a plate by hosting a series of fabulous and entertaining dinner parties for guests. They were brilliant nights out, as everyone climbed inside the BBC’s iconic TV show and experience it from the inside out. With over 70% of each performance improvised, the audience was completely immersed in the comedy spectacular!

Sausage Sizzle

An event in which current and prospective residents gathered for a BBQ, shared stories and toured the retirement villages.

Market Day

Held annually, this event is a relaxed and social experience. Featuring market stalls, morning tea, wine tasting and live music. It’s an opportunity for residents to spend time with family and friends.

Grandparents Day.

St Ives encourages resident’s families to be involved in events, in the past we have hosted casual events such as BBQs and more upscale affairs with bouncy castles, face painting and more. You can view our upcoming events here.

I want to attend an event but I don’t know much about retirement villages.

Retirement villages are purpose-built complexes, often with amenities on site where one is able to live in a community of like-minded individuals. St Ives villages offer a range of on-site facilities, from indoor pools to hairdressers. With each village designed to provide safety and security to retirees entering their golden years.
