October was an exciting month at St Ives Melville with the refurbishment of the Clubhouse kicking off on the 16th October.
What’s happened so far?
Classic Contractors have made a lot of progress with the demolition of the club facility in only two weeks. The new Clubhouse will be open-planned, with a dining area, Village Manager’s office and consulting rooms.
The external fade awnings have been removed which is already giving a lighter and brighter look and feel to the building. After consulting with an interior designer from SPH Architects, a colour scheme was chosen to give an inviting look and feel to the new Clubhouse.
What’s coming up next?
In the next two weeks, external rendering will begin and new windows will be installed, while the internal work continues. New side faades are being manufacted to create a modern street front elevation as well. It’s going to be a busy site for the next few weeks while the construction team powers through.
The limestone retaining walls and fences will be removed to make way for a spacious exterior lounge area, perfect for a relaxing catch-up with friends and family.
When will it be finished?
The new Clubhouse is anticipated to be finished late January 2018. We’re looking forward to unveiling the brand new facility then!
